Suborbital Launch Sites
Suborbital launch sites consist of facilities that can be used to place objects in space but not at orbital velocities. They generally lack complex launch pads and ground equipment, or have geographic restrictions such as an inadequate buffer area between their facilities and populated areas. However, these facilities are attractive to private investors in new space programs focused on suborbital spaceflight, and to nations taking the first steps toward orbital spaceflight.
