Shouhuai Xu

Shouhuai Xu is the Gallogly Chair Professor in the Department of Computer Science, University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS). Prior to joining UCCS, he was with the Department of Computer Science, University of Texas at San Antonio. He pioneered a systematic approach, dubbed Cybersecurity Dynamics, to modeling and quantifying cybersecurity from a holistic perspective. This approach has three orthogonal research thrusts: metrics (for quantifying security, agility, resilience, risk and trustworthiness), cybersecurity data analytics, and cybersecurity first-principle modeling (for seeking cybersecurity laws). His research has won a number of awards, including the 2019 worldwide adversarial malware classification challenge organized by the MIT Lincoln Lab. His research has been funded by AFOSR, AFRL, ARL, ARO, DOE, NSA, NSF and ONR. He co-initiated the International Conference on Science of Cyber Security (SciSec) and is serving as its Steering Committee Chair. He has served as Program Committee co-chair for a number of international conferences and as Program Committee member for numerous international conferences. He is/was an Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Dependable and Secure Computing (IEEE TDSC), IEEE Transactions on Information Forensics and Security (IEEE T-IFS), and IEEE Transactions on Network Science and Engineering (IEEE TNSE).

Ms. Katelyn Kuhl is an International Program Specialist in the Office of International and Interagency Relations at NASA Headquarters. She joined NASA HQ in 2010, and through her career has supported multiple human space flight programs and projects, including the International Space Station, the Human Research program, flight operations and more. She has worked with countries and agencies all over the world, including Canada, Japan, Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, France, Italy, Germany, and the European Space Agency (ESA). In 2020, she concluded a multi-year negotiation of the Gateway international agreements with Japan, Canada and ESA. She is currently facilitating international discussions on lunar surface partnerships. Ms. Kuhl earned her B.S. from Wheaton College, IL and her M.S. from Virginia Tech. She and her husband have one amazing daughter.

She is the principal assistant to the Program Executive Officer for Space for acquisition strategies, portfolio management and program execution. She acts for and with the commander in the execution of an annual budget of $11 billion to develop and deliver capabilities that provide the warfighter agile, integrated, resilient and protected effects in space to meet critical national imperatives. In this role, she leads a workforce of approximately 10,000 military, civilian and contractor personnel to enable the Space Warfighting Construct, preparing the nation to fight and win a conflict in space. Additionally, as the HCA, Ms. White works on behalf of the Secretary of the Air Force and the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Acquisitions to expedite the development of business processes and contracting solutions to capitalize on rapid acquisition of space assets in today’s competitive space economy.
