Lesley Conn

Lesley Conn is Senior Manager of Research & Analysis for the Space Foundation, which produces The Space Report and related online content. Working in-house with Becki Yukman and Matt Christine, she writes, edits and coordinates content with contributing writers to develop insight, data, and analysis across the full spectrum of the space industry. Prior to joining the Foundation, she was a writer and editor for Gulfstream Aerospace. A graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Journalism, she previously worked as an investigative newspaper reporter and editor.

Dr. Dorit Donoviel

Dorit Donoviel, Ph.D., serves as Executive Director for the Translational Research Institute for Space Health (TRISH), a NASA-funded cooperative agreement with a consortium led by Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) in Houston, TX and includes the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena, CA and Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, MA. Under Dr. Donoviel’s leadership, the mission of TRISH is to lead a national effort in translating cutting edge emerging terrestrial biomedical research and technology development into applied space flight human risk mitigation strategies for human exploration missions. Prior to TRISH, Dr. Donoviel served as deputy chief scientist and Industry Forum Lead for the National Space Biomedical Research Institute (NSBRI). Before her work with TRISH and NSBRI, Dr. Donoviel worked in the private sector, where she led metabolism drug discovery programs at Lexicon Pharmaceuticals in Houston, TX.

Eugene F. “Gene” Kranz

When the Apollo missions were announced, Kranz was assigned as Flight Director for all the odd numbered missions. This included Apollo 11, with Kranz present in the control room when Armstrong and Aldrin stepped on to the surface of the Moon. He is most famous, however, for his role in the ill-fated Apollo 13 mission as it was his leadership of the mission team that enabled the astronauts to safely return home.
